Brittni Paiva Releases New Album "Through the Chaos"
Honolulu, HI (August 24, 2026) – 4x Nā Hōkū Hanohano-award winning ukulele virtuoso Brittni Paiva has announced the upcoming release of Through the Chaos, her first album in fourteen years, on Friday, September 18, 2026. The album is co-produced by Paiva and Hōkū-winning super-producers TheBrewz (PARTYFOUL [formerly Crossing Rain], Thomas Iannucci, Ragamuffs), and will be available for sale wherever music is streamed or sold. “I’m so thankful I got to work with TheBrewz on this album, because I was trying to do something genuinely new, and that’s where they shine,” said Paiva in a statement. “After fourteen long years full of many highs and lows, I am proud to have made it through the chaos, so to speak. I can’t wait to show the world how much I’ve grown, both musically and as a person.” “One of the things that excited me most about Brittni's record was the opportunity to reimagine what the ukulele could sound like in a contemporary pop context,” said Evan “takeokun” Fujimoto of TheBrewz. “It's rare to work on a project that expands the possibilities of an instrument so deeply rooted in tradition while remaining authentic to its identity. As a producer, these are the kinds of projects I dream of being a part of." Paiva began working on Through the Chaos after an extended break from releasing albums wherein she toured the world, racked up millions of views and streams across platforms, performed with stars like Jake Shimabukuro and Carlos Santana, and collaborated with a who’s who of Grammy winners and music legends ranging from Tom Scott to Taj Mahal. Yet during that same span, Brittni also dealt with severe hardship, overcoming struggles with mental health and addiction. Perhaps as a result of all she’d experienced, she became interested in pushing the ukulele to its absolute creative limits, reaching out to TheBrewz once the project was already under way. The result is Through the Chaos, a truly singular album. With its genre-bending mix of electronic, pop, and contemporary stylings, the project breaks new ground in the ukulele world. It is also stylistically daring, as Paiva intentionally tackles some of the instrument’s most difficult keys in her compositions (such as B-flat, D-flat, and E-Flat), keys that ukulele players typically avoid. And, though it’s an instrumental album, Paiva composed each song on Through the Chaos “lyrically,” meaning that she wrote each song as though the ukulele were singing rather than merely being played, leading to many unique melody and stylistic choices. “The music on this album feels futuristic to me,” Paiva said. “It’s my sound evolving into something greater, something so different from anything I’ve ever released before. It feels groundbreaking in its own way, and honestly unlike any other ukulele music that exists right now. This is the most exciting and forward-thinking music I’ve ever made.”
